I am a Airtel Postpaid Mobile user since a very long time now. and one day I was told through there Thanks app that There Fiber Broadband comes with an Landline Service in my area.
This has Impressed me, and I have booked a new Airtel Fiber Connection and it got Installed the very same day.
I Received my Airtel Landline number through an Email from Airtel and the email says I got Free unlimited calling all over the country.
I was so Excited about this, and I bought a new Telephone set to connect to the landline Service which I will be getting from Airtel.
I connected the phone, and there is no dial tone. I am unable to make calls, and no incoming as well.
I tried Calling My Landline Number provided by airtel from my Mobile, and to my shock it says the Number is not valid.
I have Immediately Called the guy who Installed the connection and told him about this, and to my shock this guy says, Airtel wont provide any landline service. its only Internet what they provide.
I shone him my plan details on there airtel thanks app, and on there website airtel.in and also in the Email I received from airtel.
but this guy still says that its only Internet what they provide and there is nothing like landline from airtel.
Then I called airtel customer care and booked a complaint regarding my fake landline number provided by the airtel. this time the customer care guys said, the landline number i got from airtel is valid and they are going to send there technician to fix the problem with in 24 hours.
the very next day I got a call from the same guy who installed the connection and he still says the same. this time with a rood voice. he sir I already told you that you will only get Internet and nothing else. no landline nothing and the have cut the call on my face.
as soon as he cuts the call, I got an SMS from airtel saying that my complained is closed.
I dint give up. I have booked a complaint again with airtel, and this time, they have closed my complaint without even calling me.
I still dint give up. I kept on booking complaints Repeatedly and they use to close my complaints Repeatedly without solving my landline problem.
I got tired of it, and posted all this things on there facebook and twitter pages.
now, again airtel guys booked multiple ticket's on my landline number and promised me that my problem will be solved with in 24 hours.
but no, it dint. again all those complaints got closed without any fix. they din't even contacted me while they are closing my tickets.
but still I dint give up, I kept on posting on there facebook and twitter pages about my landline thing, and you know what? this time airtel Surprises me saying that they only provide landline service in few locations and they do not provide any landline service at my location.
I asked them if it is the case, then y I was told that I will be getting a landline service along with my Broadband plan? Y I was told that there is an unlimited calling with my plan?
Then y I was given a landline number?
and trust me, they have no answer to any of my questions. and since then airtel has stopped responding to my posts on facebook and twitter.
later, I got to know that I am not alone who got cheated in the name of landline by airtel. there are many customers all over the country.
This is a open Scam by airtel.
People, stay away from this cheater company.

@armaan_99 I know this is a trash company run by cheaters. but my problem is, Jio is not available in my area. its only is very limited streats.
and the other option i have is BSNL and it go down almost once in 3 days. We had BSNL for 52 years. and its only because of this Fraud company airtel, I have disconnected my landline from BSNL thinking that I will get a phone services from this cheaers.
see how cheap people at airtel are? they are not even responding to my emails.

Airtel is not responding to My emails. Yesterday I have Tweeted them and for that I got an Reply asking me to contact Local Authorities to address this.
What do they mean by the Local Authority?
am Waiting for there reply.

I thought Police or the Municipal officers.
Never know Installation guys also come under local Authorities.
and by the way Y would We contact the Installation guys? I think airtel wont have access to there Installation guys.
 
@Bucky maybe We have agreed to the T&C. but that applies for those customers who have not got the landline number.
but I got a Landline number from airtel and I was also Informed by airtel Officially that my landline services are activated and I can make calls.
is that not misleading?
 
O my God. I got an reply from airtel on twitter asking me to contact the local law enforcement agency to solve this.
the moral of the storie, if you are a airtel customer, then you need to contact the law enforcements to get your problems solved.
What should We call this?
 
If you are unable to give your landline service activated just give back the connection and take a new one from a competitor. Also, not all LCO cities are fully enabled to offer landline service. Also, what is your data plan? Don't know why I get the feeling your LCO conned you.

Sorry to say this, but it really doesn't seem Airtel will solve your problems. And I as an Airtel customer am facing issues with Netflix billing since Sept luckily they're setting it right but its painful to call them month on month for correction. There has been a marked change in the customer responsiveness this year...no idea why.

The only way to deal with such people is do stop doing business with them which I have threatened to do should this false billing continue into Jan '23.

Yes you are right, I think they don't want to solve this. and I am worried this kind of harassment's from the service providers will go even high in this country as the telecom companys are becoming monopoly .
I really want to kick airtel and go with other provider, but Jio has very limited Reach and they are not available in our area.
and I think I should go back to BSNL.
at least with this post / Tread people should know the real faces of airtel.
 
@sbhokray I have been an Airtel fibre subscriber for nearly 2 years (next mth) and all I can say that their customer service standards (not connectivity) have dropped. If you MUST have a landline go with another provider.

As for internet connectivity, at least in Tier 1 cities, Airtel is still one of the best. I use 3 of the top national ISPs i.e. Airtel, Tata Play and BSNL. All 3 own international gateways. But the problem with large ISPs is they stop caring after a while and many a times the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. Trust me, Airtel or Tata are still better than dealing with BSNL.

So, I prefer the 1st two than BSNL whose service has been very patchy in the past month. If BSNL were my primary ISP I'd be hopping mad but as a standby line I can't complain. I still feel you have been conned by your LCO who claimed a free landline # without doing a feasibility check.
