US: 14 dead in shooting during 'The Dark Knight Rises' show - World News - IBNLive

A masked gunman shot dead 14 people and wounded 30 to 40 others at a showing of new Batman movie "The Dark Knight Rises" at a movie theater in the US city of Denver, local radio station KOA reported on Friday, citing witnesses.

The radio station said a figure in a gas mask had opened fire at the late-night showing in a mall in the suburb of Aurora and set off a smoke or tear gas bomb. It said initial police estimates were of 30-40 injured.

That's pretty Sick, killing off innocent people. The day is not far away when such shootings start in India too

america has a long history of psychos shooting people at crowded places like schools and malls.

Yup. That's what i fear, The blind aping of the west could produce such copycat psychos here too.

not really. from what i have heard, it is pretty easy to own a gun in america. they are sold over the counter with little paperwork required. i understand it is one of their fundamental rights to own a gun. in india however, guns are very very hard to get. forget a machine gun like AK or something similar.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7sIiqq66rk&feature=player_embedded

The movie Runaway Jury was about this. The book was about cigarettes, but the movie changed it , to show why gun sales on the fly should be banned. One of the reasons why it was originally allowed was that America is a vast country & few inhabitants & people owned & lived in large masses of land, wherein the nearest official/police help would take pretty long to arrive. Hence to protect themselves from robbery & even wild animals, it was deemed necessary.
