well... the problem they have on their hands is that they would find it extremely hard to do a redo of the series without disappointing the fans. there are few fans of the amazing spiderman movie even though it does look pretty good and most people hated the third party of the previous spiderman series. the third batman movie is unlikely to disappoint. the entire series has turned out to be pretty incredible in nature. something that would be hard to top. this makes it extremely hard for the studio to come up with a quick reboot. they have already tried and failed with superman movies right?
Yes.. They need some breathing space for Batman.. Spiderman 3's relative failure may have actually done some good for them to start a new series and 5 years is also a decent time gap for the reboot.
