Well, let me explain why I think it's a mess and why "time travel" is a risky plot device. If Eddie Thawne dying means that Eobard Thawne never existed. That means that Eobard never came back in time and never caused the explosion at the particle accelerator 20 years early and therefore Barry would NOT be the flash yet! Also Barry's mum should miraculously be alive again, his dad should be out of prison and then Eddie would never learn that any of this had happened (because it hadn't) and therefore wouldn't kill himself and so Eobard would then exist again and everything would happen all over again and then Eddie would kill himself and OMG we're in a timeloop!!!

Nice explanation.
You forget the writers have ultimate control and they'll come up something to escape such a loop.

"The Flash" Season 2 Enlists Female Doctor Light - Comic Book Resources

The Flash enlists female Doctor Light

"The Flash" showrunner Gabrielle Stantonrevealed that ex-S.T.A.R. Labs employee Doctor Light, who was namedropped in "Arrow"season two by Caitlin and Cisco, will appear in the upcoming season of "The Flash." TV Linereports that Stanton also confirmed Doctor Light "is going to be the female version" on their show.

Kimiyo Hoshi, the second person to take up the Doctor Light mantle, first appeared in Marv Wolfman and George Pérez's "Crisis on Infinite Earths" #4. She was a brilliant but ruthless scientist, whose exposure to the star Vega gifted her with photokinesis, or the ability to control all forms of light with her mind. However, she requires a light source in order to use those abilities. She has not yet appeared in New 52 continuity.

In the show, Doctor Light will appear as a metahuman. She was mentioned in the "Arrow" season two episode "The Man Under the Hood," when Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) used a light-based weapon to stop Deathstroke (Manu Bennett). There's no word on whether the role has been cast or when she will appear.
