Sony Has ‘No Further Release Plans’ for ‘The Interview’ | Variety

Personally I think the concept of the movie is idiotic. How would USA feel if a movie maker in Iran decides to make a movie based on a plot to kill Barack Obama and release it globally? Anyhow... Sony got what they deserved for all their past sins in one single go.

USA already made a number of movies which may be considered offensive. Like Dont mess with Zohan.

Thing is hollywood is being threatened by North korea ..which is considered a laughing stock in american public and now north korea seems to be winning.

The Dictator was a fictional character.

The Interview talks about murdering a real living head of state.

Yup. Good point.

Granted, we tolerate comedic, tragic and other plots about fictitious presidents (i.e.Jack Bauer and multiple episodes of 24), but we culturally draw a line when it comes to movies about killing our actual, sitting president.
