i mean... you would need to know the ip.

if it is to help someone to find which net they are using, they can just load an ip id service. i like Comprehensive IP address data, IP geolocation API and database - IPInfo.io.

And that's what I am trying to do, know their I.P without letting them know. Lol

That person has done some kind of sorcery or is on a REALLY good connection, and it is giving him a clear advantage at work.

ip does get leaked through a variety of ways. easiest would be to get him to visit your website for instance. instant messaging and email can also leak email ids though i imagine it would be harder these days.
