well i can understand that model of work. you keep the companies happy, you get sponsorships and you get indirect marketing through them. i have seen enough of airtel 3g crap being retweeted by airtel on twitter. rather annoying stuff. but airtel of course would never retweet my posts about how badly they have priced their 3G connections.
i have personally suffered enough. both financially and emotionally. for my nature to highlight the issues and target these companies for their scammy operations. techwhack was a pretty profitable operation for me. but then i started using it as a tool to highlight the issues with the broadband scene in india and bam... sponsorship gone (forced me to make some changes to continue to make money from it and that killed the rankings and hence traffic). i can probably make a lot more money on this forum if i starts partnering with the telecom companies in india and start 'censoring' stuff that they do not like. but that's who i am. i do not care if this forum too suffers from the same fate. it stands for something and i am proud of what we do here.
Well If you do, then you would gain for a brief while, but in the longer run, people who come here to give feedback & help others with suggestions would simply go away and this would become another of those other sites.
