not here in gurgaon. the delhi gurgaon expressway is the highway of death. bikes and autos are not allowed on the highway but no one bothers to stop them. and these are the ones which tend to get involved in accidents.

people are dying almost on a daily basis on the delhi gurgaon expressway. and i end up seeing some nasty ones myself when i am going to delhi.

Well your clip was not about this expressway which i have no doubt has a higher % of accidents in comparison to normal roads.

It would certainly be a bad idea to to ride there :o
 
oh yeah. pulsars. i do not even want to talk about them. they would whizzz past you and would cut you in such a bad way that you would have to apply brakes to not hit them...

i cannot remember the number of times i had to take preventive measures so as not to hit a bike rider... and most of them are pulsar riders.

i really hope we get some cameras on the delhi gurgaon expressway which can record such accidents which can be used in the courts to showcase the callousness of the authorities to prevent such accidents :P

i recently blogged about why DSC Limited (the company that operates the highway) should be made party to every bike accident happening on the expressway considering they have totally failed to stop them from entering the highway.
 
I guess the question is not that there are more accidents on this expressway but rather a higher % of them are fatal.Why is that ?Speed ?Would better education (for bike riders) help to alleviate this.
 
i bet if the government makes sure that only trained sane riders get the license to drive :D that would solve most of our traffic and accidents related problems... how do most of us learn to ride and drive? and how many of the people on the road are actually capable enough of driving safely... that is a tough question to answer.

i remember reading this news item some years ago on the blueline bus drivers in delhi. majority would not pass basic driving tests... a couple of them were legally blind. some others were color blind... :D

As many as 95 percent of the Blueline drivers are unqualified to get a driving licence.
