The peacemaker doesn't deserve a spin-off either—the Shittiest character in the movie.
Apparently, one can write an entire book about poor artistic choices and terrible scenes/dialogues and character choices used by James Gunn to make the movie look edgy and appeal to what I would call the most violent online troll community of edgy dudes.
Harley's character was reduced to her sexual appeal. A bad guy kidnaps and says, marry me if you want to live. And the only reason Harley kills him is that he talked about killing kids. Otherwise, it's cool to have sex with ur abductor (which is rape btw) and marry him. I guess James Gunn's persona from his deleted tweets is finally flowing through his movie.
Pointless display of Animal cruelty to make the movie edgy. First, you kill one bird. And then to make it appear edgier, kill a whole lot more which added nothing to the movie. It just shows the disgusting mind of James Gunn.
The people of Corto Maltese didn't matter to anyone. The entire population got treated like toys. But I guess that's Hollywood for you.
The message from the scene where it was implied that dissidents and journalists are sent to Jotunheim lost its significance in the next minute because James Gunn was more focused on showing the gore and less about the actual issue. Of course, people would say it's an R-rated movie, not a political one. Well, then why even bother sharing that they were dissidents and journalists. It could have been anyone.
The competition scene between Peacemaker and Bloodsport kills freedom fighters (some of them in their sleep) and later joked about it when they learn that they have killed the wrong people. It was neither funny nor in good taste. And their leader seems to be cool with it. Wow.
Amanda Waller went from being an in-charge lady to a crazy one where her subordinates hit her, which was a bizarre choice. And later, there seemed to be no repercussions either of that. Her whole character arc went into the trash.
Constant jokes about people's deaths, esp the one about Milton's death. As If it wasn't worse the first time that Harley had to bring it up again when she called Idir Elba Milton.
