Need to buy a laptop for my mom. The only requirements are that it should be as thin and light as possible. Needs to be windows because of some software she needs to run for her work. Specs wise as long as it has a SSD and at least an i3 or equivalent Ryzen it would be fine.

I have found the Asus Vivobook 14 on Flipkart for 39k. Weighs 1.4kg. specs seem fine apart from only 4GB ram. Also ram seems to be soldered to the MB so I don't think it will be expandable

This isn't a suggestion because I haven't used this myself but this laptop seems fairly cheap:

I'm curious how good or bad this is, reviews seem to say battery life is trash but other than that it sounds decent. And yes ofc its a lesser known brand.

I saw that but a bit apprehensive about that brand. I am assuming it's a Chinese import with very little QC done

I suggest Mi notebook because i bought the i5 base variant for myself and got i3 variant for my cousin.
Both have excellent battery life.
Screen brightness is always an issue in direct sunlight with all laptops of this range.
Except that, fast charging, superb cooling and anti glare screen along with ssd justify my choice.
