I use zone alarm, and I've even blocked all access to HSBEAT.exe, but it works fine. Though i don't use the sify client all the time. Yesterday or day before, I too was getting disconnected every 5 minutes though i was connecting from the webpage! I guess some prob with sify. And ya, I sure did contact the sify cust care n they told me repeatedly that auto log off is NOT optional.

i've been told that the autologout is not optional either. about za well i am using it and can't use it with the client but it works fine with the webpage login.. can somebody tell me what happens if we shut down the client by using the task manager?? (ctrl+alt+del) do we still get logged out or what?? i think we don't.. so if this is true than we can just login using the client and then close it by using the task manager :o

oh and one more thing.. people PLEASE use a firewall while using SIFY.. you get attacked from other sify users

I just came home.. 9 hours this thing has been downloading.. got 170MB.. sighZonealarm was on all day no problemWithout zonealarm only people in a LAN can acces ur comp through shared service, netbios, port 139 i believe...

well, i do get tons of messages on zonealarm when i turn on zonealarm abt incoming pings and what not. but i doubt i can access your system on the LAN even if you remove your firewall... bhinder can try doing that. he is on my lan and i dont have a firewall working and my IP is --snipped-- :)just don't mess anything up ;)

:o sush what's got into you.. don't give out your ip like that.. and trust me you REALLY need to install a firewall.. firstly your system is pingable.. you don't want that.. that's an open invitation that says "HACK ME HACK ME"

but i doubt i can access your system on the LAN even if you remove your firewall...[/b]

that's what you think.. here are the results of a port scan on your machine..

dude.. you have port 139 open.. there is a very easy way to exploit the ls@$$ service.. you know that thing that shows a message telling you that your computer is going to reboot in 60 secs.. anyways take my advice and install a firewall

p.s. i get very low pings with you.. (127 m.s.) .. do you play games??

hmm... now u are scaring me :) zonealarm is up running now :P and strange i never could ping anything around herewell no games here. torrents makes pings slow. :) and i did install that 60 sec reboot wala patch  but who knows. its windows for god sake :lol:ok test my PC now... :) is it still open to hackers :P

dude u are no longer on global. nor am i... i remember the day you messaged me with my system's admin p@$$word...
