First of all thankyou all of you for your prompt reply.I have downloaded all my emails to thunderbird as fortunately i have @yahoo.co.in domain which allows free POP3 access.I also have a @yahoo.com domain and will certainly try out your suggestions.

heh alright. good.now shift to gmail and say tata to yahoo mail for good.

forward all you yahoo emails on gmail and then use gmail pop to download to an email client.. long method but at least you will have your emails saved on your comp

what's the need to forward when you can configure it for pop?

i thought yahoo did not offer free pop access... and i personally do NOT use gmail.
