Time taken to get a connection?

Before giving Dataone connection BSNL people do a number of parameter test on your existing copper wire. If the existing copper pair pass the parameter test, then they do not change it. The test is done by the internal staffs from the Exchange. If the existing copper wire fails the parameter test that means you will not get good service on the existing copper pair. They need to be replaced.

So if they want to replace it do not stop them. Consider yourself lucky because in my case I wanted to replace the existing copper pair, but they did not do that saying it passed the parameter test.

Hmmm thanks for that info. In my case, the lineman seemed confused. First he asked me if I asked for a new phone connection. Then he later thought he has enough cable so he laid the new one

But the 100 rupees u paid is too much..he suhd have settled down with 30 rs...

No connection till date. No one turned up, no one seems to be intersted in getting the dead phone alive after several complaints and no modem ((
