God of Commentary! Only he could make a boring and dozy test match a bit interesting with his wit and humor. At times he was so dumb and stupid but even then, it was hilarious and not frustrating. Another classic Tony moment :

^ Apparently, Richie and Bill Lawry have decided to retire at the end of this summer maybe after ashes. Looks like the whole of the Australian cricket is going through some major transitional phase

He has been a regular commentator for TMS, except for a period at BSkyB from 1991 to 1994. Blofeld's cricket commentary is celebrated for his plummy voice and his idiosyncratic mention of superfluous details regarding the scene, including things like construction cranes or numbers of pink shirts in the crowd; as well as pigeons, buses, aeroplanes and helicopters that happen to be passing by.[6] After the tea and lunch breaks he is also known to talk for extended periods of time about the food on offer, in particular cakes, with occasional interruptions to describe the situation on the field. He also uses the phrase "my dear old thing".[citation needed]

Since 2006 he has commentated less frequently, missing the 2007 World Cup despite having covered the opening ceremonies of the two preceding World Cups in 2003 and 1999 for TMS.

Yep. Just that since quite a long time, he has been there just for Cricket in Australia. U wont hear him in any other place. I thought he shud have stayed on till World Cup 2015 Down Under.....Wud have loved to hear him in World Cup.

He used to do commentary when matches are held in Sharjah...

Still you could hear his voice in ten cricket where in they telecast lots of Sharjah matches....

I guess he also did commentary in India for Hero Cup and also 1996 WC...

He is also a very good commentator... i like him too...

The fact is he was a presenter for Channel 9 for long long years....i guess startin from 1985 World series till 2008....
