Torrents begin very fast, but get painfully slow gradually

bastards now have finally started to throttle traffic.I have just now written a barrage of complaints to TRAI.I advise you all to write a letter to TRAI.

First you understand that torrents are not hosted in any servers. its shared(seeded) by other peoples, so you can only download at that speed of the SEEDING man's upload speed.

Speeds go down gradually over a period of time. And it is again at peak speed if I restart utorrent. So I think this is not because somebody else is using my internet.

Also, if I download from a direct HTTP download, speeds remain consistent (450 KNPS-600 KBPS).

Cheers

Can't rep on the forum, else I would have. GreedyTorrent works like a charm, and has definitely addressed my ratio - if not my guilt for not giving 'back' to the torrent community :D
Most private trackers ban people with suspicious uploading activity . Make sure you don't use it too much.

@ topic - you can use this test to see if your bittorrent traffic is being throttled :

My plan is 4mb Rs.1099.since last 6 months i am not face any FUP.Now i am facing the same problem.night upto 11'o clock torrent speed max 90kB/s.after 11 slowly increasing speed 12'o clock getting full speed.Direct download speed always same(above 500KB/s).Uploading speed also always same(100kB/s).

what plan is this...4Mbps for 1099??? I get 1Mbps for 1099...LOL

So are they throttling P2P? I am getting only 70-80 KB/s while HTTP goes upto 250KB/s. Don't know if problem is with my computer or not.

from my own experience... i have never seen throttling on airtel. of course some torrents are slower than others. so they might be doing it for some trackers. but bittorrent itself is not being throttled.
