No surprises really. Made the mistake of not asking what option does a customer have if he does not get a proper resolution through the appellate authority. As expected, they told you to stick with complaining to the service provider itself. What a waste of time and resources.

Questions asked:
  • Please provide copy of regulation detailing minimum speeds to be provided by a wired internet service provider with respect to advertised/contracted speeds in tariff description.
  • Please also provide Name, designation & address of person/official to whom complaints regarding non compliance of above regulation could be made for ensuring delivery of requisite speed to the subscriber.

They did that. I am confused what you are trying to say :)

Appellate Authority...... Non existent/ functional for MTNL..... Even the links on TRAI website would not work/ accessible....

Andher Nagri Chopatt Raja...

I managed to get a resolution from Reliance Appellate Authority. MTNL being a government body should actually have a much better nodal/appellate team. Just do not rely on emails. Post your complaints. I was just putting my new complaint in the envelop for delivery to their appellate team just now. Though this issue is unlikely to find any resolution :D

So TRAI doesn't answer to the irregularities created by an ISP ,but we have to ask the ISP
Wow it's like complaining to a criminal about the crime that he committed [emoji14]

I am tempted to send another RTI with similar questions specifically indicating what the customer is supposed to do if appellate failed. Would need to check if I have any postal orders left. Getting them is a major hassle considering the nearest post office is a bit far and they do not always have them in stock there. Main post office is in the older part of the city and has long queues on all counters :D
