Transaction over the credit limit

Hi
Suppose if my Credit Card has credit limit of 10k , can I do a single transaction of 25k by prepaying the CC account with the shortfall (15k in this case) ?
Primarily asking for following Bank's Credit Cards

1- Axis Bank
2- ICICI Bank
3- HDFC Bank
4- SBI

Also how do you guys pay your credit card bills so that it instantly reflects in your CC accounts ?

I can confirm this with SBI. I do it almost every month lol.

I have paid with upi/cred/on sbi's site. It reflects within ~5 minutes. Just to be on the safe side, Add a little bit more because in case there are extra charges(like forex, if applicable), It's considered over limit and you'll be charged ~800ish penalty for that.

@ishanjain28 So, if I buy Rs 25k goods from Amazon India/ Flipkart, SBI won't consider it as an over limit transaction and there won't be a penalty?

Yes, Exactly. If I want to buy something worth 50k and my card limit is 25k, I "topup" 26k on the card. In few minutes, The credit limit on sbicard's website increases to 51k and then I can buy the product that was 50k without any penalties.

Anyone tried SBI CC on overlimit retail purchases from shops is it also works?

Doesn't work with HDFC credit card. I tried some time back.

Works for Citibank CC, obviously you'd need to top up first, quite helpful when paying hospital bills that are in 4-5L+.
