Troubleshooting Sudden High Ping on Reliance Jio Fibre

Also, try traceroute to the destination IP to rule out any incremental gateway latency. You could also find if the packets are taking a longer route which in either case Jio should be able to fix it.

looks like there is no issue in day time and ping only increases to 330 plus after 5pm. what should i tell the engineer now? he will come tomorrow

@hardcore_gamer29 Don't take tension about Engineer. Once he reach your house, Tell him the ping difference between your Friend and You getting in the same server. They'll be able to understand the issue.
If by any chance, They are not able to get the issue? Just tell your friend to send 1 screenshot of test done on that same server and perform it in front of Engineer and after completion, Show him the difference of Ping - Issues. They will be able to understand your issue by that.

If you think your Ping is high at Night-Time and Stable at Morning time, Checkour your IP Address. Sometimes, JIO Change your IP Address (From one server to another server)
This happens sometime automatically and causes High ping issue at different time.
Website to check your IP : whatismyipaddress.com or fast.com or speedtest.net or speed.cloudflare.com (Remember to check IPv4 not IPv6)
Router restart changes your IP Address, If you restart your router 3 - 4 times, It will give different IP Address and sometime Different IP for different Server.
Example : 1st Restart : 100.100.100.205 2nd : 100.100.100.150 3rd : 200.200.200.120 4th : 100.100.100.123
So, It can be that your 3rd Restart IP gives you better ping than 1st, 2nd and 4th. This happen with me on my BSNL/Airtel Fiber and just a Modem restart fixes my Ping issue in several games.

Either way, Engineer will provide you best solution for what you should do or what they need to fix, You should inform them regarding the recent Fix perform by last Engineer visited your home so that they can be more clarified about the situation you are stuck.

From my experience with both Airtel (installation person) and ACT (service person), the service level engineers who visit your house have 0 understanding of ping and why it's important. They usually check your speeds and say it's working fine. With ACT, I had to mail them and tweet multiple times to get my high gateway ping fixed. My statement here could very well be anecdotal, or Jio guys could be more knowledgeable.

@Smallship It depend on the location and Engineer.
Well, Most of the JIO Engineers don't have enough knowledge in most of these cases and will just let you do some speedtest and other tests which show your Speed 100/100 but for other factors, They will just ignore it.
So, It's best to show every evidence/issue you got through screenshot and self-testing in front of them for more detail explanation regarding your issues in these things as they will try to contact someone more knowledgeable in this type of situation or you will just get a disappointment by your ISP. (happens in case of JIO most of time)

@Protector That is true. If the engineer refuses to acknowledge this is a problem, he could try tweeting or mailing to someone in the backend team or by whatever name they're called in Jio. Saves his time and energy dealing with field technicians.

Also like you said @hardcore_gamer29 could try getting a new IP in the meantime, since my current connection's (Airtel's) latency to a few servers changes after a router reboot (could require multiple attempts).
