I finally have WiFi working in Ubuntu 9.10 :yahoo:I didnt knew why, but broadcom card driver needed to install from Synaptic Package Manager (It was installed in 9.04, I came to know from some forum). Only after that I started getting option for wireless internet.Though still after that WiFi was not connecting yesterday, but now after I reboot laptop in Ubuntu I got message for WiFi signals available, and after I selected my WiFi network (& entered key) it got connected! :dance:

Congrats brother:thumb::clap:

In ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala, it is a confirmed bug which has been reported in their forums about the network manager and net connectivity. I am also facing the same problem when i upgraded my both pcs with 9.10 from 9.04 which was working fine. Please someone inform me in this forum when the update for net connectivity is released.

I get this msg:Demand for Ubuntu CDs is very high, and we're trying to ensure that we have enough CDs for those who really need one. We've noticed that you've already received CDs of several previous Ubuntu releases. You can help us ensure the continued availability of Ubuntu CDs by ◦upgrading to the new release without a CD◦downloading your own CD for free◦becoming an Ubuntu member by contributing to Ubuntu, and thereby becoming eligible for more CDsThanks for your support of Ubuntu! Hence they have stopped FREE service.. now they seem to be going on path of charging

yeap. i guess they are still going to offer free CDs to people with brand new accounts.

its easy to get a new email address and get the cds unless they check the unique address also.

How about just downloading the CD,Burning it, installing Ubuntu and passing it on to a friend. :inodding:

i have the iso file downloaded already. finding blank cds around at my place is always a complicated task. i buy them in bulk but then i misplace them. :d

Ubuntu people try to save the CD's for people who have bandwidth issues like poor countries, which could help Kids and Adults alike to benefit from Ubuntu (Open Source) Secure Operating System. I donated my 9.04 to a friend and another one to a primary school here. P.S. I'll be more than happy to lend you a blank cd, Friend :D in case you happen to come down here.By the way posting this my my new lappy, thanks Admin for helping me choose it, its awesome.

heh. i need to get a couple of blanks. need to backup my Dell vista DVD as i am scared that i would lose it. which one did you buy?
