Hi, I have cable internet connection. The grey cable goest directly into my pc. There is no modem or router etc that I use. I have got another pc with Ubuntu 10.10 installed on it but it does not connect to the internet, while the old pc with Ubuntu and Windows XP (it is a dual boot system) does. What could be the prolem? The pc is ok and just like new. Is it MAC binding or something? Thanks.

By grey cable do you mean CAT-5 cable ? Does it go to your Ethernet port (LAN Port)? If yes then it surely is MAC binding.

Thanks Shayandri, it is indeed MAC binding as confirmed by my ISP after so many days of enquiry.
