yes, i am using in bridge mode. 10 pm to 2 am shows charged usage. Only after dialling after 2 am it is zero usage. I am not sure about what s/w author is telling. I daily download about 4 gb without any issue.

The Issue is if u switch on ur Modem before 02:00 Am and does not reboot ur modem at 02:00 then BSNL can say that since the connection is started in Non-Free time u have to pay for all the usage during the connection.
So if u have started the connection at 01:50 Am and without rebooting the Modem continued up to 07:50 Am, and suppose downloaded 4 GB data during this time then BSNL can say that u have to pay for that 4 GB data as it falls(started) in Non-free time.
they don't do this daily, but they have done this with many BSNL users.
they often show in there logs that the connection is reestablished at 02:00 Am (without ur modem rebooting), but this is a trap, since u have not rebooted the modem urself they can anyday show u that the connection is started in non-free time and u have downloaded a few GB data, so u have to pay for that few GB @0.80.

^^ Dude i told ya that i am in bridge mode and i am supposed to dial for getting connected. Everytime you dial, the connection is registered on the network. And in scheduler of fdm, there is provision to dial the connection at desired time. Since i have the setting to dial at 2.15 it doesn't matter if i reboot the modem. My modem is ON right from 9 pm and i never reboot it till next morning. What matters is disconnecting and getting connected again after 2 am by dialling, which is what exactly fdm does. The thing you are talking about is applicable for ppoe type connection.
dear @ganesh177,I have already told u that I don't know too much about bridge mode.but i had asked u a simple question : did the BSNL's usage log page show u "No connection"/"Zero Usage" for 10:00-02:00 Am.u Replied : "10 pm to 2 am shows charged usage" & "it is zero usage" if i understand ur reply correctly then it means that the BSNL server shows - that there was a connection between 10-02 but its usage was ZERO. Now u have written "i am supposed to dial for getting connected", what i have to say here is if u have not dialed earlier then how BSNL server shows that there was a connection between 10-02, Secondly u r talking about dialing, dialing means a modem, but there is no modem available in ur PC (ADSL Router is not a Modem - it is a seperate computer with its own processor and a seperate O.S) so what u r dialing. according to my belief u r dialing a virtual dial-up connection which exist between ur PC and ADSL Router only, and the moment u have switched on ur Router it is connectet to BSNL. I am only saying, since there is a connection established at 10:00 Pm, u have to broke that connection at 02:00 AM. I wish to have a comment on this from some technical expert like whitestar_999. could find option for above setting. under schedule.

"AlwaysOn" . You are connected to Internet when system and modem are switched on.( userId and PW entered in WAN page of modem )
For NU former is preferred. In FDM you program the downloads, and set the timings. Either you can schedule automatically or manually.
So if system and Modem is on FDM will start d/l at the time you set viz 2.15

Break connection ? Yes i disconnect it before sleeping so that fdm redials it at 2.15. That is what i mentioned in earlier posts

9 pm i switch ON router and dial the connection. Usage on bsnl page is counted and charged.
12 am i disconnect the connection. Mind you, router is not restarted, it is still ON and in same session of 9 pm. I setup fdm to redial at 2.15 and hit my bed. Usage from 12-2.15 on bsnl page, not applicable simply becoz there is no connection.
2.15 am Router is still ON in same session of 9pm. FDM dials the connection at 2.15, and utorrent is launched. Usage on bsnl page, counted and not charged.

Ofcurs its virtual dial up, why did it took you so long to figure it out ? When you are in bridge mode, switching router ON doesn't mean you are connected to bsnl. You are connected and your session will begin only when you dial the connection. Cna anybody tell me how to make a dial up for my broadband connection. I am using a Netgear DG632 router which has a modem mode too but I do not know how to make a dialup connection. I would like to use the download manager to boot the modem or dial at 2.05 am and switch off at 7.55 am. Right now my connection is in always on mode (PPPoE).

To set the Netgear DG632 up for bridging, you need to select the "Device Mode" menu option and switch it from "Router Mode" to "Modem Mode."Enter the appropriate VCI/VPI (0/35) and make sure it is set to LLC mode. Also in "Basic Settings", select the option that says your connection does not require a login. Hopefully these steps should help u use your modem in bridged mode...
