gparted is not complicated. it is pretty similar to the disk partition manager in windows.

its gpt man and not msdos disk slicing. you know how to use GPT? hno3 is right you might want to read uefi. archlinux got a nice wiki.

be extra careful when slicing disks you may loose all data and your headache will then start. disable secureboot as sai said. its the root cause of all problems.
