But how was Tipu Anti-Tamil? As per history I read, Tipu became prominent in South India and conquered most of area which was earlier part of Maratha Kingdom, hence Marathas also considered Tipu as enemy.

I am guessing they mean he was not Tamil & maybe conquered parts of the area and locals are/were not happy with that..

I thought Tipu fought against British before Jhansi Ki Rani? At least that's what I remember from the TV show which had relatives of Hrithik Roshan involved in it. I think.
