Unlocking Dasan H660GM-A

1) login to 192.168.1.1 with admin : admin

2) go to maintenance> logs > system logs

3) search for "passwd" on that page

you will most probably get 3 results among them 1 is for default "admin" access, 1 is for a higher level access "superuser", and the other one is for telnet access
(both the username and password will be mentioned there)

4) login with the superuser account and go to maintenance > utilities > acl and enable telnet access for lan and save it

5) open telnet on 192.168.1.1 and then use the password as mentioned earlier in step 3 to login

6) type "bootcfg customer DASAN" and then do a factory reset to unlock the ont

(Note: after unlocking the WebUI credentials will change to admin : vertex25 and this will give you full access to all the settings and the telnet credentials will change to admin : 1234)

imo Dasan has much more advanced features compared to zte(which I used before this) such as separate DNS even for pppoe, beamforming and mu mimo support, inbuilt mesh and more

Ok, thanks for confirmation. I was not aware about this limitation.

I was interested in ntp because I was using the auto reboot feature of this router (set to 5 am everyday) and it was causing issues because due to incorrect time (time being reset to 1st Jan 1970 on every power down/reboot) and router was rebooting every 5 hours instead at 5 am.

So, I'll simply disable that feature tomorrow and manually restart the router once in a week or so.

If you don't mind answering, I was also having issues updating or downloading any app from Google Play Store (browsing play store was completely fine) on this wifi specifically (using a VPN resolved the issue of downloading too) but once I manually set the time, I think app updating/downloading resumed. I haven't tested this theory thoroughly as I rarely download any new app or update apps manually.

But do you think incorrect time of this airtel router (still set in bridge mode with static IP) could have been the issue?

An ONT in bridge mode is essentially a media converter. So, it's very unlikely Airtel ONT's incorrect time is playing a role in your situation.

Why would you want to restart the ONT?
I have the same ONT and it doesn't cause any instability issues even after having a uptime of 30+ days.
In bridge mode as well.

@tr1k0N4 cool, thanks man for confirmation but I have checked play store manually and unfortunately, it's the same situation, no apps updates/downloads on this specific wifi (with a VPN it works just fine as I informed earlier, and it happens on every device connected to this wifi and not just mine). As per my limited searches on internet, it has something to do static IP and IPv6 not being available.

@HC1337 It's just a habit that I set this option on every router I have to manage, be it at home or at my office. As per my little experience, restarting electronics resolves a lot of issues on its own.

My current setup uses three devices for network. Airtel's router for fiber connection which is mandatory, then a LAN cable from Airtel router goes to my TP-Link Omada non-wifi router (acting like a switch maybe) so that we can use two ISPs at once & also have wireguard VPN access and finally a LAN from TP-Link to TP-Link Mesh set in relay mode for wifi in the office.

but thanks to you guys, I have got the confirmation that I can't update time in bridge mode, so I have disabled it and hoping this was actually the reason for my frequent disconnections.

It's certainly plausible that with restarting your equipment periodically will prevent any problems from occurring, prevention is better than cure.
I was of the same mindset before as well but I decided to push all of my equipment to see how far everything will go without breaking or slowing down.
Safe to say I have been lucky with the uptimes with Airtel and a few others ISPs, meanwhile almost any problem that occurs is mostly on the ISPs fault.


If you are facing problems with Playstore not loading on your Static IP, it's can be some DNS issue or the routing for your static IP pool might not be optimized enough.

I use a OpenWRT router (TP-Link Archer C6U) and it handles 3 ISPs pretty nicely, one of them being airtel. Have been thinking about replacing the ISP provided ONTs with my own ONUs (TP-Link XZ000-G3 or a VSOL) just to experiment around with IPv6 and mutiple ASN and routing techniques.

Try dialing PPPoE on your router for Airtel as well if you are on static IP, for IPv6.
