For a night unlimited 2 Mbps connection (11pm-9am), I think about 700 is OK. For a true unlimited, Rs. 1200 are fine.

1000 bucks..i do expect international standard speeds.. (in greece.. u get 10mbps for 1800rupees.. so.. i'd say 2mbps for 900 should be proper seeing that we r behind n all..)

Realistically speaking, I feel this can be between 3000 - 4000. Is because the datacard itself with 230kbps expected top speed and 2-3 kpbs average throughput costs Rs 1500 per month.We should also consider that with a bigger connection, a lot of people will start downloading movies and music. Thus, a 2Mbps unlimited connection is not possible with the current infrastructure with broadband companies.Maybe, for home users the kind of plans BSNL will work for 2Mbps. They have a monthly UL/DL cap.

Are u guys out of ur minds or what?...willing to pay 3000-4000 rupees a month for 2 Mbps broadband! u guys are willing to pay much higher than what people in Europe, North America, Japan, Taiwan, Korea etc are paying for speeds 10 times that. what is wrong with you guys? please educate yourselves. my friend in France pays 30 euros (1800 rupess) for 8 Mbps unlimited internet + cable tv (with HD content) + free local and long distance calls withthin europe and to USA. We are talking about 2 Mbps not 20. and dont forget their per capita and disposible incomes as well. People abroad are surfing internet at faster speeds on their mobile phones now (thanks to 3G, 4G etc) than what we do on our PC's. I dont care if u have the capacity to dish out 1 lakh a month for internet , but keep in mind international prices and then say to yourself are u getting you money's worth?

right now what we get is not broadband and we are being looted by the ISP's

Just came across this - "Verizon has boosted the top Internet connection speeds of its FiOS service for consumers and small businesses in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, to up to 50 Mbps downstream and 10 Mbps upstream. In New York, customers can get this speed for $89.95 a month with a one-year agreement". and you guys are willing to pay the same price for 2 Mbps .lol. And keep in mind that USA is way down the scale when it comes to broadband in the developed world.

3000- 4000 a month..ummmmvery nice. it seems now a days in india too, people have money to dispose off..really india is developing man..

we have 2 airtel 256kbps lines here for 3-4 people. we end up paying 2000 for our internet usage in a month. most of the time one or the other line is wasted coz no one is online using that one. i guess, i would be happy to pay 2000 bucks a month for a 2 mbps unlimited line as long as they deliver atleast 512kbps-1mbps 24x7.
