Wait so only the Thunderbolt ones are expensive compared to Usb C ? Does Apple support both of them ?

Apple doesn't properly support anything between USB 3.0 and 4.0 such as 3.2.

Thunderbolt 3/4  and USB 4 supported docks and drives will perform better.
