I have 2 computers (1 with ethernet card and other has ethernet port built-in, so 1 port for each comp) around 30ft apart. and I have 2 routers, D-Link GLB502T and UTR300R2U (both have 1 USB and 1 Ethernet port)I have BSNL-500 NU connection. Now, I want to use net on both comp such that,1. I should be able to use net on either comp individually (with other comp switched-off)or2. Use it on both comps simultaneously.so, is it possible with the hardware I have at the moment? (including a cable of 30ft) or do I have to buy the ethernet-switch?

@ soroccoheaven

ok. thanks for the info.
I will buy the switch. and abt disabling remote access..where is that option?
In my D-Link, there is Advanced > Web Access Control and then there is one check box for "Enable" (which is unchecked)
and I have changed the default password (admin) already

good ...go on and you done.
