Using same routers on different fiber internet operators

Well, i was using some ADSL routers which still lie somewhere at my house. Some of them were brand new, and airtel moved to v-fiber then, and later to Full Fiber. I suppose these routers will be of no use now.

I want to know what ISPs allow their routers on other ISPs. Like if you have Hathway or Airtel router, can you use them for ACT?
I mean, are they interconnectible? If they use EPON or GPON or so forth.

As far as I know, any router should work with most OLTs unless they are being blocked or specifically whitelisting specific ONUs/ONTs/Routers by the ISP, most of the local ISPs should be able to work with any router unless the router itself is locked down by the previous ISP.

How can i know whether it is locked or not? May be by configuring(?).

The airtel previously had auto-configuration when the router/modem was connected to the network. These days, configuring the router has become too complicated. Don't understand what is what.
