I recently replaced my failing Richerlink ONU with a VSOL V2802RH, configured solely as an ONU (with PPPoE handled by an RT-AC68U). Excitel uses a combination of the SN + MAC for authentication with their OLTs. Note that Excitel operates on EPON in my area.

To achieve PON O5 status, I set the following parameters via Telnet:

Code:
flash set GPON_SN abc
flash set PON_VENDOR_ID abc
flash set ELAN_MAC_ADDR abc
flash set OUI abc
flash set HW_HWVER abc

Replace "abc" with values derived from the ONU provided by Excitel. Some tips to help speed up the process:

  1. Some ONUs allow you to export the config via their web GUI, which often reveals these values.
  2. Typically, two MAC addresses and serial numbers are printed on the device. Only the GPON’s MAC and serial (where your fiber terminal connects, the cage itself) are relevant. The labels on my.excitel.com can be misleading, as they refer to these as "ONU MAC" and "ONU Serial," but they are infact the PON details.
  3. The PON_VENDOR_ID is usually the first four characters of the GPON_SN.
  4. OUI is the first six characters of the ELAN_MAC_ADDR.
  5. PON_VENDOR_ID, OUI, and HW_HWVER are optional to set.

I had to downgrade the firmware to stock v1.1.7 due to an issue explained here.

Hi
wakening up an old topic
I have just received a new VSOL V2802RH
But I am facing a peculiar problem , when I logged in into web interface of the ONU at 192.168.1.1 under the Setup>WAN , I am not able to see any GPON settings page and OMCI Information page.
Instead I can only see EPON Settings

I have tried to factory settings from web interface and reset button also , but even after that GPON settings page and OMCI Information page are not visible within the web interface.

Could you please help me to fix this issue.
It would be very helpful to me

Bro, Ig you've to change PON mode to GPON manually, then maybe you can see GPON settings. I've also faced such situation.
Thanks for the reply ,
Can you share the steps , how I can change PON mode to GPON manually.
Even reset button not reset it to factory default state.
Weired piece of hardware.

Birader, if your wishnet is EPON-based, then let me tell you that EPON OLT only checks the MAC address of the interface dialling PPPoE/soliciting dynamic IP. SN of the ONT is immaterial with EPON.

Why the GPON setting and OMCI setting page removed.
Why this device can not be reset back to factory default fully.
My ISP authenticate with LOID + LOID password.
If I remember correctly, I have seen GPON and OMCI page just one time, just after the first power on of the device.
After that I have putted LOID and Password copied from old ONU , reboot the device , pages gone , now only EPON page is coming.

My ISP authenticate with LOID + LOID password.
Please first confirm whether the ISP is EPON or not.

Why the GPON setting and OMCI setting page removed.
It is not out of the ordinary for these pages to disappear for an EPON connection.

@proton8454 what are your steps after reaching registered and certified step.

I've reached the same step. But I'm not able to reached pppoe server from my downstream device. It's always leading to PDAO timeout, I've tired bridge profile with vlan disabled, and application mode to internet. If you have been able to achieve pppoe login please share your steps.
