Could someone help me get to the starcomm modem config page.

I was told that going to 192.168.1.1 page would bring me the details.

I saw a webshot that brought up http://192.168.1.1/hag/pages/home.htm , but on my machine nothing comes up.

But on my machine, neither firefox ,IE , telnet refuse to open.

Firefox says "Connection Refused"
IE says : "Not able to open page"
telnet says: " Unable to open connection"

What do i do? I am running ZoneAlarm 5.5 , I also tried shutting down zone alarm and re-trying, but get the same error.

My machine is running WinXP.

Any help will be apreciated.
Thx.

avoid quoting the last post in a thread coz it does not make much sense and bloat the database making it more complex to take regular backups ;) it was aimed for ways2gain :)

Why don't u program it such that the last post in the thread is not quoted while the rest are?

Open the Network connections. Right Click the properties of the LAN connection. Click TCP/IP and click properties. Enter the IP address 192.168.1.2 , Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0 and defult gateway as 192.168.1.1. Save the settings and close.

Open browser and type http://192.168.1.1 and enter username "admin" and password "utstar" or as given in your modem manual and you'd be taken to the modem config page.

i have better things to do with my time.

Poor answer from Moderator. Why shud he expect others to not post old thread when he does not have time to adjust the settings unless there is no such feature and he refuses to say that.

At the same time, members should also take a note not to quote the last post.

every forum has certain rules and regulations. i can force you not to use certain words on this forum by using filters. i do not. personal moderation is how a large forum survives. you are no kids. i do not need to spoon feed common sense into you. if you have a problem with my attitude, you are free to look into other forums out there. i am a moderator coz someone has to be. i do not see each and every post. i just have to take care of the functioning of the board. and taking regular backups is a part of that. and if posting junk is what someone do, i have a duty to tell him not to do so. coz every useless quote add to the database size, which makes it harder to me to take a backup every single time.fruitful discussion is always more than welcome.

Hi I am using UT Starcom ADSL 2 modem @ Sonepat Haryana, to connect to my service provider i have to dial up my service provider (my modem is configured in bridging mode). can someone help me in configuring the same modem in routing mode so that i don't have to make a dialup connection and it is always on?
