Yes.

It said "No Network connectivity - Do you want to continue in offline mode."

When u press "Ok" it shows a screen (with title - Offline Mode) with two options.

Show ticket and Logout

If you click "Show ticket" it shows the ticket.

Good thing is even if you click "Logout" it exits app but you can re-open it and it will ask same "continue in offline" mode option.

ie. it asks username password only if u want to book a ticket.

No need to login just to show the "ticket"

Hmm ok. I guess it works only if you have booked a ticket. I was just trying out the app. Disabled mobile data/wifi connection and I wasn't even able to login.

Yes I think u need to book ticket to get into "offline mode"

Also forgot to mention. I was able to book ticket from home WiFi connection which is about 1.5km away from station. (but just 360m from tracks)

I tried to take screenshot of the ticket but it said:

"Either you do not have enough space OR it isnt allowed by the app"

Why does app block screenshots?!

Hmm. I guess I'll still stick to the good old ATVM card as this app still doesn't solves my purpose. I sometimes travel to Santa Cruz via WR and I change at Dadar and I cannot really go out of the station just to get a ticket.

--

Taking screenshots are blocked so that no one can take screenshot of the ticket and share it via Whatsapp :p. The ticket basically contains a QR code which can be scanned by TCs. They really won't bother to check whether the ticket on someone's phone is really the actual ticket or a screenshot.

Cant u book ticket mentioning "Kalyan to Santacruz via Dadar"?

I think I saw such option.

OT:
about screenshot. why such a feature was added in android?? strange.

android is supposed to be open source and work at "user's" discretion atleast for whatever is on screen.

and its not like its fool-proof. anyone having alternate phone or camera take screenshot.

Yeah you can book. But why waste money as I already have a season ticket of Central line (Ambernath - Mumbai CST Main Line). I basically need ticket from Dadar.

And Android being open-source has nothing to do with blocking of screenshots. Even bank apps do that. Basically it is to block malware and rogue apps from taking screenshots and sending it to their servers.

I think I misread his query. He was asking about taking screenshots in general. I just tested taking screenshot from UTS and I was able to.

It is useful many a times.
