have u tried that netfreak? I tried that long time back but there is nothing..its safe and hidden

Don't think anyone would spend $$$ on encrypting a form variable for a "retail" router. Lemme check.

netfreak, you should have tried that yourself it, doesnt work..dont post it "in PUBLIC" if u figure it out...btw the router has nothing to do with encrypting the password..the webinterface creates a passowrd input box and "fills" the box with a password that it stores in its flash memory!if u have to crack/reveal u need a "passwordrreeavler" that revealswebform passwords! which i cant seem to find on my computerbecuz of MY bad organisation skills!

Password revealer only works if pasword is stored in the application..it doesnt work if password is stored in the router itself..BTW, stole, i sent a PM to u, still awaiting ur reply..

Guys...I have a list of Phone Nos. who have not changed their rtr password from ADMIN to sumthing else. Suggest those guys 2 atleast enable d F/W on their rtr. And u know how kind MTNL ppl r. Just barge into any of their offices & give them any Phone No. & if u r polite enuf...they will disclose the CA No.......I kept this as a secret 4 a pretty long time thinking tht sum1 mite misutilise this. Now tht everything is so public..hence even I went public.

Guys...plz ignore wht he says. I have been dealing with this public sector company from decades. I guess I can deal with this company 100 times better than wht u can do. st0le..last but not d least...90% of ppl dont change their passwords from CA no to sumthing else. I'm only talking abt those ppl. And btw u dont need 2 upgrade ur f/w firmware...just keep it in bridged mode & use ur pc's f/w.

Baudhayan pl. dont give out tutorials of hacking to newbies. Even I know how to do it.Advice people to change their router passwords but dont give tutorials of hacking to them bec just see the response to this thread just bec initially Stole kept the thread title something like "Hack other people's a/c".The word hack attracts everyone from experts to newbies. So advice for the good but dont disclose and promote people to hack.

In my experience, MTNL staff only "listen" to you if you speak their language. Understanding what you're saying or getting any work done is another issue altogether.

And btw u dont need 2 upgrade ur f/w firmware[/b]
The older firmware did have a security flaw and it is supposedly corrected in the newer version. If people use MTNL's router, they wouldnt need to upgrade it themselves as MTNL should do it for them.

just keep it in bridged mode[/b]
The router manual and the MTNL Triband userguide only give instructions to set up the router with PPPoE, as it's commonly used. The 90% of people who don't change their passwords from the CA# would also have no clue of setting up the router in bridged mode.

& use ur pc's f/w[/b]
PC firewalls won't protect your router, so to protect your password stored on the router your safest bet is the router firewall.

I agree with St0le... changing passwords, activating the router firewall and upgrading the firmware to the current version should be made mandatory (for those who worry about their MTNL accounts being misused).

baudhayan, seems to be upset with my previous posti dont want problems okay?....it seems he is very "pro-mtnl" and i respect that!!but i still have the right to rant about mtnl...we all do!i agree i am a hypocrite...isnt evry1??hope he gets that!respect my opinion, and i will respect yours!
