I like this player on Linux. Better than VLCPlayer IMO. :D

SMPlayer is a new multimedia player, it uses the award-winning MPlayer as engine, so it's able to play the most known video & audio formats without the need of external codecs.

Download
Windows: SMPlayer
Linux: SMPlayer

looks good, but windows-only i see

realplayer???!!! yuck! :P

gmplayer ( mplayer ) and vlc plus all win32 codecs for mplayer for linux :D . In windows i use real alt + quicktime alt +vlc

Linux- smplayer/vlc
windows-klite(mpc)

and for music i use winamp on windows
and on linux- music player daemon with gmpc client link
or audacity with methlab for media library

^yes...coz now lots of files are coming with .mkv extension and this codec pack is required to play those files...so u better have it beforehand than later figuring it out how to play those files... :D
