there are basically a couple things to consider to play certain types of videos:
[*]does your OS have the necessary A/V codecs
[*]is your player able to use the installed A/V codecs
[/list]that said, even Microsoft Media Player would be able to play almost all video types given that a comprehensive codec pack is installed.
for the case of k-lite codec pack, it is one of the best/complete out there, and it also comes with a player called Media Player Classic. the player, as the name implies, looks like the previous version of Microsoft Media Player. that is, it only has a conveniently few buttons. but when installed with the codecs that comes with the pack, it will play almost any video type
^right!but when i download the mkv files through vuze, i can play them only in vuze...can't play them in the old media player or the other player independently that comes with the K-lite pack...wonder what's wrong...
windows - for VIDEO - klm codec pack (Supports any format even real, can be configured to play using native wmp). I prefer it with wmp (WMP reneders videos with good color contrast unlike VLC)
for AUDIO - AIMP (Extreemly versatile and with very handy shortcuts and tweeks to suite any requiremnt)
linux (Ubuntu) - for VIDEO - VLC along with real player 10 (Native player is underpowered imo)
for audio - the native player
All the software listed above are free to use and download.:thumb:
Hope the info helps
I like DivX player as it has got an option to the enhance Speech Volume.. called the Audio Enhancer .. some DVD Rips available on the net have very low speech volume compared to the background music .. and this is when it comes handy ....
