I wonder if we can drag and drop link/word(s) from a page to anywhere in tab area now to open new page or search for something.

Still does not work. I assume you are using sidepanel for tabs. It does not work properly for default tabs style.

Select a word. Drag it to new tab button at top.

@Sushubh Yeah, that works since a while now. I am used to throwing the words/links just anywhere in the new tab bar, so this feels kinda annoying to use.

Guess it is time to try again to see if drag and drop link/text anywhere in tab bar works and get disappointed.

and i need to see if their address bar and tab behavior is similar to chrome. i do have to move away from chrome.

i checked for you and you have to drag it to +. dragging it in empty tag area shows the error icon.
