Friends,I have a BSNL connection with their wired modem and a Pronet 54WRT wireless router.I have recently tried to connect my TS HD+ STB to the internet in wired format. The STB could not connect when running the wire from the router's port but could connect from the modem's port. Now, the modem has only one port and thus I will need to plug in / plug out each time I want to use the VOD.Any suggestions to overcome this in the present set-up?I would be willing to change the internet hardware to a modem/router combo if this is required. Would like to have hardware suggestions here too.Was also wondering, if I use a switch at the STB end for connecting to STB, TV, future BD player, would it have the same problem all over again?

Why not just buy their wifi usb dongle that they are currently promoting @ 300? Have read somewhere in another forum here that it can be used on other devices and is dual band. That alone is worth its price.
Not exactly a solution to your particular problem but a suggestion

Yes, I guess that would be a solution but would it give similar speed? My net speed is quite low (40~80 kbps) despite having a good plan (BSNL ULD900 - 2 mbps until 8 GB & 512 later on). Therefore I was in favour of a wired setup.
Any hints on improving the speed at my end? Maybe that's for another topic.

ok got it installed .. Print price on dongle is Rs.950 ..
It is a plug and play device .. After plugging in it scan for wifi connections and one need to enter the password to connect to his wifi network ....
Getting decent speeds on download .. Got the stb connected with mobile app also .. So can change channels etc from mobile too ..
Although not much use of this thing for me .. I just got it installed as I had Rs.330 in my TS account which won't be needed till next year as I recharge with annual pack ..
And this thing in market costs over Rs.700-800 .. So was a good deal ..
This is the device which they r giving .. http://www.wneweb.com/networking/more/DNUB-236.htm
