Vodafone 4G started assigning new wired IP address 192.0.0.X series.

Recently, I checked my Vodafone 4G sim status to check signal, then I noticed that I was assigned 192.0.0.4.

Also I checked this ip info but no info was available.

Usually on
Jio we get 25/26.X.X.X or 56.X.X.X series or 10.X.X.X previously
Airtel we get 100.64.0.0 to 100.127.255.255
Vodafone I used to get 10.X.X.X but now its 192.0.0.X series.


Did notice or anyone also got assigned this wired IP series.

/24 is just 256 IPs, what are they doing lol. They should be assigning in 192.168.0.0/16 but that may conflict with 4G Hotspots in some cases.

I guess since in my area there r not much users that's why they might have used this

Maybe they're tunneling ipv4 over ipv6.

Yep they are tunnelling "DNS4 + IP6"

But before few days even DNS6 + IP4 and DNS6 + IP6 where reachable.

Now after network integration it seems they are saving on IP4s

I guess this was the problem, since when I use www APN then only "DNS4 + IP6" is reachable.

There might be the case that telegram servers are not reachable with DNS4 + IP6 config

But using "portalnmms" all DNS, IP config where reachable.

They might have set blocking rules for www apn and not for portalnmms, so telegram and other website might work when you use portalnmms.
Ipv4 over v6 is good because it frees up ipv4 for wireline services where public addresses are required.

yep the point is true but instead if they use better DNS resolver then IPV6 is better option
