Vodafone Idea 5G Updates

Nope, they better find 20k crore to pay the tower dues before November

They will just end up losing their high ARPU customers which will make things even worse for them.

They already pissed off their high arpu users much earlier with their vas scam my friend who recharge atleast ₹3000 per month for isd calls got unsolicited vas activations from vi which drained his balance and they didn't refund the money now he ported to jio

Will it even survive till 2024 without 5g?

Not joking. With more users switching away I wonder how long it can sustain in India.

I thought they will be the first one to switch over to 5g as they have expertise from other countries. Probably, it is the dues that prevents them to launch early.

Ambanis and the government... Mili bhagat hai.

They are looking for TCS etc. For BSNL 4G & 5G.

Instead they could have given the contract and money to Vi for it. They could have done it + it would have helped them as they already have network team everywhere and equipments.

Also they can assign Vi people for upgrading and maintaining BSNL's network.

It wouldn't have taken them years like TCS.

Vi bhi saved & BSNL too...

But the government is busy charging intrest on dues and delaying equity conversion process.

Even if after that Vi had gone bankrupt. They could have easily merged it with BSNL as already Vi was maintaining all of BSNL core infra + The BSNL Revival package money could have been better used.

I really don't understand anything about government.

They are sinking Vi & BSNL along with Bank's money with Vi & Revival package money with BSNL.

They make easy stuff so difficult and complicated...

Vi + BSNL combined can have 30%+ market share.
Right now both of them are bleeding subscribers like crazy.

@netomato
Vodafone had some of the shittiest anti-consumer behavior back in the day before Jio. I couldn't care less about saving a company that is accused of predatory practices not only in India, but some other European countries too. While it is generally bad for consumers to have less competition, I, as a former Vodafone customer, am personally very glad that Vi will go bankrupt.

I don't think govt could merge Vi and BSNL because BSNL one of the "strategic" PSU's. That's the reason the govt isn't selling BSNL in the first place, even after being such a money sink. They wouldn't want foreign interference in national matters.
