4 more free movies that could cover good new releases by the end of this year.

we know you both wont pay and thats why praise TS

----------

most people would not watch a movie second time even if it was free.

very few movies are worth buying on dvd.

Only comedy movies are watched again and again for atleast 5times just like Dhamaal, Hera pheri, All the Best and few others. Also some other hindi movies like KKHH,Mohabbatein and rest come on TV channels more,so it gets bored.

how many times have you watched All the Best and Dhamaal? Just recently i watched All the Best about 4 - 5 times

Guys, lemme tell you this that showcase movies are actually not free in mega pack.Even i am a mega pack user and even i thought the same before

But if you check the Tata Sky website,it says that mega pack includes 172 channels and 12 showcase movies and with this we pay a total amount of 5,500.It does not say that it is free.

There are many customers in mega pack and if everbody gets 12 movies free then how will tata sky earn with pay per view (showcase).

This is just a promotional gimmick to show that we get it for free

I also think that indirectly tata sky is forcing customers to go to mega pack so that they can earn some money thru showcase movies as well

which in turn shows that the actual cost of mega pack is not 5500,it would be aleast 1000 rs less.in mega pack we get all channels,if you check other dth companies like big, dish and airtel,we get almost same channels or even more than tata sky for about 4500-4800 rs per annum. (have not included sun dth as their prices are more than tata sky)

even the actual cost of tata sky mega pack would be just around 4500-4800 rs per annum but tata sky has kept high prices for all their packages so that customer can go to mega pack by paying 5,500 rs and by also paying for showcase movies indirectly.

Yes comedy movies can be watched repitatively without getting cheesed off!

(have not included sun dth as their prices are more than Tata Sky) /////I agree with you that 5,500 for the Mega Pack is a rip-off. The cost needs to be reduced.Tata DTH is bleeding. Their costs are way too high. They are subsidizing the STB. They are spending too much to get new customers. Overall, their business model sucks. This is the problem with all DTH players. Hence, Tata tries to fleece existing customers.Already, Tata is on record saying that they are not interested in low paying customers. They want people who pay 5,500 without thinking twice. But, once you have spent Rs.5,500, It makes sense to use the movies fully. Hence, It is better to watch these movies at home instead of multiplex and get the mileage. This is what Kumararavind is doing. It makes perfect sense.

Well 12 showcase movies is a privilige and one should exploit watching all of them who have subscribed for annual mega pack!

hifijay,Even i agree with you that utilizing the 12 movies makes sense,at least it would be worth rather than paying 200 bucks to a multiplex.but tata's should not think that we customers are fools,we are better enough to understand there gimicks.as mentioned before, the packs are too costlyairtel has reduced there sports pack which includes all sports channel(including zee sports) to 750 rs + tax per annum, which comes around 830 rs per annum inclusive of taxes (source::airtel dth website) and Tata Sky provides the same pack without zee sports for 1350 per annum including taxes.just look at the difference. This shows that the governing body TDSAT has given permission to airtel to reduce the cost of sports channels and various other channels, and also companies to which these sports channel and other channels belong have also agreed to the same.even if we check big tv,airtel and dish, there add on packs may be costly, but when taken annualy, customers are given huge discountsi have checked it in big Tv's website, annually we need to pay just 4650 including taxesif airtel and other dth companies can reduce the price then even tata sky can,but if suppose they reduce the cost of sports annual pack (lets assume to around 700 rs,without zee sports) and also they reduce price of other add on packs, then they need to credit the difference on pro rata basis till the subscription end date to all the customers, which would be a hectic task for them (as 80% tata sky customers have subscribed to sports channel)i remember once, tata's had created a different pack for the 3 bbc channels and had created a different pack for sports channels, they claimed that they had reduced the cost of all base packs and the following day there was a big advertisment and a article wriiten in times of india which said ::"Has Tata Sky decreased or increased the cost of the packs"they could not suffer the humiliation and eventually they had to scrap the bbc add on pack and all those who had subcribed to the pack were given the credit, but only few customers had subscribed the bbc pack and it was easy for tata sky to give the credit.but now with a subscriber base close to approx 5 million,it would be a hectic job for tata sky to credit the amount to customers if they reduce the cost. This also shows that even tata sky is paying the same amount(i.e less money)to various channel companies like other dth providers do,but has not reduced the cost to the customers. So rather then reducing the cost of the packs, they are giving us 12 showcase movies, the cost of which is included in that 5,500 bucks.

Also the price protection provided makes the pack feel secure as customers will derive this benefit:urock:
