Just heard the news that Airtel DTH has increased its list of entertainment channels. They have added Movies Now HD, CBS Prime. To add to this they already have all the sports channels. So we as TS subscribers still pay the highest monthly bills and still don't have access to HD entertainent or UCL football. C'mon TS...do something..!!!!!!!

Airtel is less likely to run out of TP space as they are using MP4 and Tata Sky using MP2. Airtel shud be able to add 25 to 30% more channels.Also Airtel is going for SES-7 because, reportedly, 4CR lifetime is very less. They are not running out of space, otherwise they wudnt be repeating all channels on SES-7.

Its quite remarkable that all of us out there know about these technicalities, but the ppl who need to do something about it end up doing nothing. They all are very happy with reaching their various set goals like highest customer base, or maximum number of channels. No one cares about the future. I'm sure they knew that they would run out space someday but are somehow not prepared to take the necessary action to deal with the matter. I mean what point in launching new boxes when there is no immediate scope for new channels. Why would ppl want to upgrade to an HD box when there are only 3 channels ( Star Cricket/ESPN HD, NGC HD and Discovery HD ) worth watching. All the companies have their own speed brakers. Tata Sky has shortage of channels. Airtel has channels but the signal qlty and STB is rubbish. And Dish TV..well the less said the better ( from personal experience of course ). But coming back to TS, they need to understand that it makes more sense to add more channels first and later on give the consumer the choice of watching them in regular or HD qlty. That makes more sense to me.
