a few days back i was at my cousin's place. my cousin was facing some problems with mtnl internet so she told her dad about it who works in the army .. he got somebody to 'write' a complaint and gave it to mtnl office (i do not know addressed to who) but when i was there an engineer from mtnl showed up who i can honestly say was the most knowledgeable guy related to mtnl i have ever met. he knew about snr margins and everything and also told me that night 2mbps plan would also be coming to delhi he came from canaught place to dwarka just because the complaint had been made in writing. He did get the wiring sorted out at my cousin's place the next day and also got the modem replaced (with a 4 port one because my cousin uses a laptop too)
 
Completly agree. With MTNL, written letters / Fax works if addressed to right person.
 
even phone complaint works ..again.. if called to right person! (personal experience)
 
It also depends on who writes the letter..if its a political biggie..or a high ranking govt official..u can be pretty sure that the problem will be sorted out in a jiffy..unfortunate but thats the way it is..
 
you are right, it does matter.But surprisingly, my billing issues got resolved without a single visit to exchange once I faxed a concise application to MD Mumbai/GM BB and GM West III. Got follow up call from top guy of exchange.[had shifted to a new flat, buggers did not enable broadband on new line but kept billing for that]
 
1500 for tel probs is good infact great.but 1504 is completely useless.
 
1504 did not help me in anything beyond password reset. And they do not have any control over billing. And MTNL does not have proper billing systems even in 2007 :wall: if you overpay for a bill, extra amount will not be adjusted in next bill automatically.
 
whenever i call 1504 ext 3, it always says "we are unable to attend your call" or something lke that.
