whenever i call 1504 ext 3, it always says "we are unable to attend your call" or something lke that.

STORY OF MY LIFE DUDE!!
I called 1500 exactly 5 days ago and asked for change of plan from 590 to 849NU
I called again 3 days ago for the same and this time got a token number
I got a confirmation call also
I still have not got the plan change:wall:
I called back today with the same token number for an update and apparently no such token number exists:redface:

when i call 1504 i hear something similar to engage tone but beats faster. i keep redialing 5-10 times and it gets thru but no sooner i press 3.. i get "we are unable to service your call now", most of the times.

I had one billling isssue with MTNL.......but with repeated call to BB deptt, it got solved on phone only and they sent me a new corrected bill b4 the due dateAnd in the new bill they forgot to charge me Rs 50 modem rental as well

1504 Extension 3 NEVER EVER worked for me......but ill try soon, and my net got 2MBPS for one day and the other day(Today) its getting DCed too much and speed decreased.Guys also try to PM me in the forums about smi margins something u guys talk about as i have no experience of Internet.

its SNR MarginSignal to noise ratio [Minimum must be 10]Higher the SNR Margin better ur MTNL experienceand Line Attenuation is the disturbance in ur telefone line..again lower ur line attenuation the stabler triband runs [Max attenuation tolerable is 50]PS : Read all the sticky topics b4 askin anything

^ I would like to make a correction to sanke1's post.. SNR margin is not signal to noise ratio.

These are two different terms although they are related

SNR is the signal strength versus the noise.

SNR margin is the difference between the actual SNR on the line and the minimum SNR required to run the line at a particular speed.

What the modems usually report is the SNR margin and not actual SNR.

eg.. for running a dsl line at 2 Mbps the minimum SNR required is 20dB (hypothetical) and ur modem reports SNR margin of 11..then it means that ur actual SNR is 31

The absolute minimum SNR margin required to connect is around 6dB but it also depends from ISP to ISP and their equipment..
