We had around the same in our house and had ordered an RO system, the guy refused to install it saying the TDS is too low for it. Found it really absurd. And getting refund off Flipkart was a pain in the ass
I got my current RO from AO Smith before NGT came out with these regulations. I would be impressed if all RO companies follow these guidelines. The problem at my end is mostly muddy water and not TDS. I hate to even gargle with tap water despite regular cleaning of the water tank.
