Hello guys, I'm sorry its a long post.... and please forgive if this topic sounds stupid :ashamed:I wanted to know (may sound weird), can a UTstarcom router display the router configuration page of a Huawei modem? has anyone faced this problem?I saw this topic in some other forum (orkut), but its not as active as this one, so thought i would get more opinions here...This guy has a UTstarcom (UT-300R) router, when he gives his username & password as admin:admin then he gets a Huawei router config page but when he gives username /passwd as admin:utstar he gets a utstar page,.. heading of the page is GS8100 Configuration GUI, model Viking. His system is not part of any LAN (with other pc). AFAIK UTstarcom & huawei routers belong to two different companies, how can this be possible?@mod: I hope its ok if i post a query from another forum, I'm ready to edit my post if needed.

^^ I don't understand why I should run CC-cleaner & by the way its not my modem / router that's giving me the problem, I already mentioned that this was a problem posted by someone in another forum

maybe its some dumb fvck who wants to waste everybody's time by posting wierd BS

1. NO harm done even if you run the ccleaner program in your computer. 2. Use it. If the problem is by your friend advise him to run ccleaner. 3. Post the link for the forum/thread, as problem seems interesting.

ccleaner is pretty cool if you know what you are doing with it. i used it to clean the temp files on the computer. just make sure you check the settings turned on in it.

hey cranky, can you ask that poster on orkut to try to clear the browser cache (temporary internet files) and try again?

@vishalrao The program I have given does more than clearing temp files of IE. ( may be most people are aware of it ) I try to give some useful information, even if my posting here may not be correct. For instance from the same web site, you can download a program to check updates for all your programs. One thing leads to another, and the information is shared.

oops, okay, my post was redundant :) i didnt realise CCleaner (Crap Cleaner) also cleared the browser cache, i was thinking it might only cleanup registry and unused files and maybe adware/spyware, i've not looked at the program, never had the need :)

sorry guys, the topic started long back i.e, on march & the guy says the problem is solved for him... so not bothering to try any new methods.
He had pressed the reset pin of the router & now its only showing the utstarcom config page.

But look what I found! a similar problem posted in this forum:
Code:
[URL]https://broadband.forum/mtnl-triband-broadband/8456-utstarcom-modem-router-web-interface-abruptly-changed/[/URL]
I did some googling, & found there's a chip called "Viking" manufactured by "Conexant" that's used in many routers including Huawei & utstar.....
so, this is what i thought:

the firmware that has this router config page is present in this "Viking" chip & since its the same chip that's used in most routers the config page changed if we give password as admin / utstar  .But, the problem is, he says its not showing the huawei page after reset :ashamed:

Im still a n00b, so the terms which I have used may not be correct or may sound stupid
