Perhaps the OLT rebooted and it tried to re-provision all connected ONTs? If you are using a supported ONT, the OLT could remotely reconfigure or provision it, I suppose.
Yeah thats what im thinking. The bugger hides info all the time so I cant really trust his word. But then i was already on upgraded firmware and it didnt change the firsmware.

DPI is used for traffic shaping and site blocking by most isps.
This is usually the error message you get if your site is blocked by dpi.

@vignesh_venkatesan , i get the same error on its sister / mirror website (.to). But, the same site opens after clicking the reload page about 5-6 times in quick succession. Not sure what to make out of it. I initially thought they were mirror issues... which arent surprising for torrent sites.

Ok the problem was in the hosts file. A local dev app I tried for 1 min had changed the hosts file entry for the website.

However, BSNL continues to use DPI and it will be a problem that compounds every problem that you have to troubleshoot :(

@varkey - BSNL has DPI. There is no doubt over it. It happens only on websites that are banned. Works with anti-dpi measures. If you have some test, I can do it to confirm.

@varkey - Sure mate, here are the screen shots. Let me know what you think.
