I cannot access TPB in BSNL and I hear it is same with Airtel.
This can hardly be a coincidence. Yes there are other torrent sites and workarounds but this seems different than other times. First the night 2 - 8 AM 2 mbps unlimited is withdrawn, next this. Clear message that if you are using large volumes of data you are doing something wrong.
My question is exactly which part of it is illegal -
1 ) downloading the 30 kb torrent file? (which can be traced if you not using VPN etc workarounds)
2 ) downloading the 3 gig movie the 30 kb file leads to?
About 2 ) my question is how can any ISP know what is coming to your pc from 20,000 users? There are 30,000 to 80,000 pieces of files that come together. If I download half a movie today, a quarter tomorrow and remaining quarter 2 weeks later, it is obvious I am not receiving it from same senders.
Moreover there are legal torrents also like Linux. Torrent itself is not banned since then no reputable site would have made the client available.
Does anyone have any idea of the exact legal issues involved because now it seems we may be moving over next couple of years into stricter regime.
3 ) If torrent is illegal why are there plans within Rs 2,000 from every ISP providing possibility of downloading 60 to 140 GB every month? Why shall a private individual need such high usage without any streaming television like Netflix in India.
