Dude. You need to login with his Google account. My panel shows devices that I had months ago. So it's not like the phone would disappear from his account so fast.

From what I understand, Google had turned out the tracking feature by default. Remote wipe needed manually setting change.

No. I am serious. I do not know of any way a device can be removed from an account so darn fast.

I only have the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 5 with me. The other two devices were on my account months ago.

Its pretty simple.
web browser -Google Play Store - 'Settings' - 'My Devices' thats it, you can un-tick devices you dont want
