Lolz good luck on getting any compensation from the guy... I really don't think u can even prove he was drunk when he hit ur car(1st thing they will ask u is how did u know that he was drunk just by looking at him in a vehicle??? If it had been a bad incident where someone got seriously injured(thank god it wasnt),u could have pressurised him to pay compensation with the threat of jail... I had a similar case, but in my case the damage was below 50k(ie not that major) so my Surveyer told me to not file a FIR & just file for insurance claiming I had caused it myself while backing up Lolz... Mind u I am not suggesting that this is what u do... If u have to post on the Internet for advice on such a thing, it's better u follow the rules & file a FIR... Althought the FIR should have filled in the night when it happened & not he next day... The reason that "raat ho gayi thi" normally applies to women... Srry not really trying to be negetive just trying to state facts... This is a risk u have to take with buying a car... Plain & simple... Btw make sure u get the car repaired from the Honda showroom only however costly it is it u hope to get the insurance & have the survey done as soon as possible if u haven't already...

Total cost of repair around 50k, Insurance cover 30 k, That asshole reported in thana after I complained and compromise happened in 9k, police men I paid rs 500, Loss of around 10 k , better than nothing Seeing him in thana waiting for me and then paying me and for his own car Priceless

How much the insurance covers is common for all providers as far as I know... Infact the repair areas of many showrooms that I have visited clearly state what percentage u pay & what % the insurance company pays on a board... So I hardly think Tata aig paid u less than the industry standard... Btw I personally prefer buying insurance from a govt company as compared to a private company... Govt companies give less preference to making a big profit as against private companies...

Got it yesterday - total amount 43 thousands, tata paid 30, me paid 13, the asshole paid me 9, i paid to cop 500 rupee 5 thousand loss, bearable :D

You forgot to add the NCB % (No Claim Bonus) if any you had to the cost above..it might show up in the extra insurance premium you have to pay next year.none the less all is well that ends well.glad that all escaped injury free
