What would you do with a 100mbit/s or 1Gbit/s connection?

Assumed you were in Mumbai because your profile says Mumbai. If you're really close to Mulund that could lead to good news..
not close near station, are you planning to launch in our area ?

Does the pope wear a funny hat? (The answer to both of those questions being, of course, yes).

I would download My favourite TV shows anytime within NO time. Download some podcasts I'd rather do 60-70GB and pay not more than 1500bucks as my ethernet card supports speeds up to 1000mbps(1gb) I think i can enjoy maximum speeds? How much maximum do you think the download speeds will be for an 45GB file with full seeds? does it even touch 15mB/sec?The last download speed which i experienced was 2Mb/sec in torrents while downloading a 35Gb Tv Torrent.

Original post of this thread: Don't just tell me how much porn/warez/movies you'll download - be creative. ;) Anything other than that?

You should be able to get pretty close, yeah.

Maybe. It depends more on the available bandwidth from each seed + how many seeders are actually transmitting data to you (as you know, even if there's 15,000 seeds, you will probably only download from ~20 to ~100 of them). It's too unpredictable to say what speed you'll get on any given torrent.

Basically you'll get what you get, but the point of having up to 100mbit/s or 1gbit/s would be that your download speed is no longer limited by puny little

I m going to use it very genuinely. Consumption would be less but what required is speed. But I still need confirmation whether services are going to be provided in Vile Parle ?

In my experience, downloading anything less than 1GB will result in an eventual speed peak of around 30mbit/s, because the download will have finished before it can get enough seeds to get up to the 100mbit/s mark.
I have done few tests on my cousin's connection yesterday which is a 30mbit business plan which is provided by beam and it starts off like 1.2mB/sec and reaches a max of 2.6mB/sec and not more than that. The torrent which i was downloading has excellent seeds and it took around 24mins to download that 3GB File..

Yes, though from memory, not on day 1.

We found similar results even on a multi-homed multi-gigabit connection.

I would make my pc a web server :D

Fine for personal use, not for commercial (eg selling web space) - that's against many ISPs rules.
