I stopped watching hindi serials some time after EK took over all the hindi channels about seven years ago. The 90s had good shows on DD, Star Plus and Sony. I used to enjoy the following:
[*] Chanakya (Chandraprakash Dwivedi, director of Pinjar, as Chanakya; premiered on DD; was later rerun on Zee TV)
[*] Postmortem (Manohar Singh as the forensics guy; DD)
[*] Tehkikaat (Vijay Anand and Saurabh Shukla; DD)
[*] Saboot (Anita Kanwar as the finger-swirling, salwar-clad detective; Star Plus)
[*] Star Bestsellers (Great short stories week-after-week. I believe Anurag Kashyap did a couple of episodes. Star Plus)
[*] Bhanwar (Brilliant drama based on real-life court cases. I think it was produced by Raghav Behl's TV18. Sony)
